Regionally accredited online schools are schools that are accredited by a regional accrediting agency, as opposed with national accrediting agencies. Most regionally accredited schools do not credit units from nationally accredited schools though there are some who do. So it would be better to check whether a regionally accredited school would accept credits before enrolling. Accreditation is very important for a particular school since agencies review and evaluate whether the programs offered by a school meet quality standards.
